This web site is for information, stories, how-to's and other things relating to my model railroad, featuring the rail lines in and around St. Johnsbury, Vermont circa 1980. The model railroad features the Maine Central, Boston & Maine, Canadian Pacific and Lamoille Valley, as well as a little bit of the Central Vermont, Grand Trunk and North Stratford Railway. Feel free to comment after each posting. Also be sure to visit my main web site located at nekrailroad.com.

Hello Mike, I have been following your posts since we have similar interests in the Maine Central Mt division. I am modeling a section of this lime that will include the Willey House, the Mt Willard Section House and the Willey Brook Trestle. My inquiry is about the back round photos of the White Mountains, did you take these and enlarge them and are any of these for sale. Thanks for any information and thanks for your posts. JOHN
Thanks John. Years ago I started a layout similar to your theme. On this layout I left our those sections mainly because they were mainly scenery with little operational potential. But I think with photo backdrops and a small distance in most places, like 9 inches edge to backdrop, it would be a great way to add something in a multi-deck layout. The way the line clings to the mountainside is very dramatic.
My backdrops were purchased from LARC, http://www.larcproducts.com. They come on a CD that I can then print on my own. I printed them on full page Avery labels. I printed them on ink jet and then sprayed with flat finish to protect. These are then cut with a straight edge and applied one after another. They line up perfectly. I think LARC will also do custom prints for you. They are at the Springfield show each year.
Mike, Thanks for the info, After going to North Conway, I "plugged in" this section of the Maine Central. still have to build the Willey Brook trestle. JOHN
