It seems to retain a softer state than regular plaster. This is good as it does not chip or crack. Once sanded, I will go over it with chalks and maybe try pan pastels to lighten things up and show some wear. Glad your station is getting close to delivery - should be worth the wait!Mike McNamarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12902543654492633693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28621733.post-23979723166205441642016-08-15T09:06:31.660-04:002016-08-15T09:06:31.660-04:00Mike,

I'll next try it on my home layout - which by the way should be graced by the appearance of the St. Johnsbury train station by Labor Day I'm told.

One question: how long did you let the spackle dry before sanding?

GeofGeof Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14116332697708271493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28621733.post-75291646406325879132016-07-23T12:57:48.668-04:002016-07-23T12:57:48.668-04:00Thanks Roger. I'll post more as I work on it and see where it ends up.Mike McNamarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12902543654492633693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28621733.post-11927550556353860312016-07-23T02:48:57.338-04:002016-07-23T02:48:57.338-04:00Mike

Since I model South Western Virginia, I actually found a piece of the CSX parking lot in Dante, VA yard that was (well sorta) loose and hauled it to my paint guy at the local hardware store. He produced a color that was somewhat correct. With powders added, the result was quite good.

Roger SekeraRoger Sekerahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16530198963792559336noreply@blogger.com
